Abstract

The Municipality of San Miguel Chicahua, located in the state of Oaxaca, is classified according to the annual report about poverty and social backwardness 2023 (Desarrollo, 2023), with high levels of marginalization and poverty. These deficiencies are found in education, social security, health, access to nutritious food, housing quality and space, and basic housing services.

For this article, a housing proposal was made for a family, through an ethnographic-descriptive methodology; site visits were carried out to have a better approach with the family members through unstructured interviews, taking into consideration their needs, beliefs, daily activities, coexistence; as well as the natural and built context in which they develop, knowing the dimensions of the property and its spaces, carrying out non-destructive tests on the site, with HOBOS, thermographic camera, weather station and different apps that study weather conditions. This study is presented for the proposal of a replicable social production model of housing and habitat for a progressive social housing, with materials from the region, of assisted self-construction and contemplating the sustainability of its construction and maintenance.

Research work related to housing and protection of sustainable habitat and Bioclimatic Design.
       

Dr. Raúl Pavel Ruiz Torres, Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas

  • Research Professor at FA-UNACH, Doctor in Architecture (UCOL-PIDA). Postdoctorate and CHAIRS by CONACYT at the FA-UADY. Member of the COCOVI Academic Body, head of research at the National Laboratory for Housing and Sustainable Communities, UNACH Headquarters, and member of the board of directors of the International Association of Building Performance Simulation, Mexico affiliation (IPBSA-Mexico). Research work related to housing and vulnerable communities, in Bioclimatic Design, thermal comfort, thermal behavior and dynamic thermal simulation in buildings.
