Abstract

The phenomenon of the heat island has a negative impact
on the human organism, especially in summer, since
it can exacerbate some respiratory diseases. In addition,
it accelerates the chemical reactions involved in the production
of tropospheric ozone and some other secondary
pollutants. The presence of pollutants in the urban atmosphere,
especially the particulate matter in suspension,
produces the absorption of the infrared radiation that the
soil emits when it cools, thus generating; the accumulation
of heat at surface levels and thereby contributing to
the generation of heat islands. Within the City of Oaxaca,
two atmospheric monitoring stations are located, which
according to (INECC, 2019), although they generate meteorological
information, this does not have sufficient quality
for the development of statistical analyzes, in addition
to lacking representativeness of the various areas of the
city.
Due to the above and because, in the city of Oaxaca, studies
of thermal behavior are not carried out and this affects
the discomfort due to the loss of thermal comfort of the
population in daily activities such as sleeping, working,
consuming more water or practicing some sport. The proposal
is the design and construction of a prototype for the
collection of information on meteorological parameters
through the Internet of Things, which allow the measurement
and analysis of said parameters and their relationship
with the urban heat island phenomenon.
